Title Check, LLC was founded in 2001 following the passage of PA 123 of 1999 which drastically modified the tax foreclosure process in Michigan. Title Check was originally headquartered in Three Rivers, Michigan which is just south of Kalamazoo in Saint Joseph county. After several years in Three Rivers, we outgrew our space and Title Check moved its headquarters to a larger building on W South Street in Kalamazoo. Eventually as our business continued to grow, we once again found ourselves short on space. In 2011 we moved to our current location at 622 W Kalamazoo Ave.
Our founder, Marty Spaulding, started with six employees in March of 2001. Within six months that number had doubled. Since that time our ranks have grown to more than forty employees. We employ a diverse and collegial group of title examiners, data entry professionals, and software developers. Our client base has also grown and today we are honored to serve more than sixty counties throughout the state of Michigan.
At Title Check, LLC our goal is to provide unrivaled service and value to our clients, secure and rewarding jobs to our employees, and meaningful and sincere contributions to our local communities.
Since our inception, we have consistently found ways to provide additional value and services to our clients while maintaining, and in many cases lowering, our prices. As proud Michigan residents, we are committed to helping our government operate more efficiently and economically. This commitment to serving our state is a key aspect of how we run our business and the way that we make decisions.
Of course, we could not continually improve our service without the tireless work of our employees. We believe that treating employees well is critical to building a strong business. We strive to provide competitive wages, great benefits, and an environment in which employees are valued for their contributions. These efforts have resulted in a workforce that is incredibly loyal. In fact, a significant number of our employees have been with us for more than a decade.
Finally, we believe that businesses should be a positive force within their communities. Critical to this belief is the understanding that a community is more than a geographic location. Rather, it is a network of people, businesses, and organizations that depend on each other to be successful. Each year Title Check donates thousands of dollars to help our community thrive. We also provide employee incentives for civic engagement and participation.
Holding fast to these core principles has helped our business to grow and succeed. We have no doubt that they will continue to serve us well as we move forward and work to meet the needs of our clients, employees, and communities.
